These compounds not only provide us with heat and electricity \u2013 they also power machines and serve as essential input materials in plastic production. At the same time, carbon is a fundamental building block of life itself, playing a key role in the biosphere\u2019s natural cycle.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer is-style-small\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-3-font-size\">Rising resource consumption<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The advent of industrial processes has driven a sharp rise in resource use. As the global population increases and average wealth rises, energy demands are surpassing the Earth\u2019s ecological limits. The use of carbon \u2013 both as an energy carrier and in the production of plastics \u2013 continues to grow at a significant pace.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer is-style-small\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-3-font-size\">Responsible use of resources and material loops<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The era of unchecked resource consumption is over. Resource use is now governed by strict efficiency standards \u2013 driven by both sustainability and economic profitability. At the same time, circular systems are becoming established \u2013 systems in which secondary raw materials are recovered to replace natural geological resources.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer is-style-small\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-3-font-size\">Post-consumer plastics as a carbon-based resource<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Producing polymers from crude oil or natural gas is a resource-intensive process. When plastic products made from these materials are incinerated at the end of their service life, the carbon they contain is released into the atmosphere as CO2, contributing to global warming. In this linear system, the production of new goods depends on a continuous supply of fossil-based resources. The liquid circular resource <g id=\"gid_0\">(CLR Circular Liquid Resource\u00ae)<\/g> produced from contaminated and mixed plastic waste provides a sustainable alternative to fossil-based hydrocarbons. It can be processed directly in existing refinery and petrochemical infrastructure, is fully miscible with fossil-based oils, and meets the same storage requirements.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"teaser-special__desc\">Its contribution to resource conservation is clear.
